Kid’s Program
"Speak softly and carry BJJ" (paraphrasing Theodore Roosevelt)- this is the message we want to teach our kids. Show respect to everyone, be humble and grateful, but always know that you have your BJJ training to fall back on should you ever need to stand up for yourself.
Introducing kids to BJJ at a young age can be incredibly beneficial for their development. It teaches discipline, respect, self-defense, and helps to build confidence that will stay with them throughout their lives. BJJ is a powerful tool for helping young people reach their full potential.
Age groups
-
Same age group but different names between schools but the same class. 30 min, let´s start to teach the very basics, learn to tumble and have some fun!
-
This class is all about having fun while learning to be part of a group. We play lots of games that also incorporate technique-building. We place a strong emphasis on respect and kindness, and we explain that bullies are actually the weak ones. Strong kids are those who earn the respect of others. We also aim to help kids become comfortable with their bodies by teaching them how to use it and protect themselves, through activities like tumbling and rolling.
-
In this class, we still incorporate games and tumbling, but we also add more structure to the lesson plan. We focus more on drilling techniques and sparring. Kids with belts higher than white are welcome to attend open mat sparring on Saturdays.
-
These kids can join adult classes if they bring a Wolverine partner.
